As many of you know, there have been recent news reports regarding the situation on the Mexican border. You have heard warnings being given to Americans citizens to be careful crossing the border, or to not cross the border at all. Faith Mission has been ministering on the Mexican border across from Acuna Mexico for over 43 years. We want to assure all groups that are coming, as well as those who are making plans to come that the situation here at this border crossing is as safe as it ever has been. We recognize the concerns that any parent or individual would have for their safety. There have been no instances of any kind of trouble in the border town of Acuna. We do not take groups of Americans into areas that we believe would potentially be unsafe.

This is the current posting at the border U.S. Border Crossing:

"Beginning June 1, 2009, U.S. and Canadien citizens under the age 16 or under the age of 19 if traveling with a school, religious, or other youth group, may present a birth certificate, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Canadien Citizenship Card, or a naturalization certificate.  Birth certificates can be an original, photocopy, or certified copy."   You may visit www.getyouhome.gov for more information

ALL ADULTS OVER 18 MUST HAVE A PASSPORT TO CROSS INTO MEXICO AND BE ABLE TO RETURN
